Glossary of Terms
IDP - Internally Displaced Person. IDPs have not crossed an international border to find refuge, but have remained inside their home countries.
Refugees - People who have been forced to leave their country in order to escape war, persecution or disaster.
NGO - Non-Governmental Organization. An NGO is an organization that is not a part of a government or a conventional non-profit business. Usually set up by concerned citizens, NGOs may be funded by governments, foundations, businesses, or private persons.
Persecution - The systematic inflicting of suffering, harassment, isolation, imprisonment, internment, fear or pain of an individual or group by another individual or group.
